Boundary Report
Boundary Verification Report — the true cuts
*2026-07-09. Scene detection (ffmpeg, threshold 0.18) on the source: 71 cuts detected.
Evidence: boundary_sheet.png (first frame after each cut, 8×9 grid, row-major c00–c70),
cut times in C:\AI\true_cuts.json, thumbs in boundary_check\.*
Headline findings
- The drift is an off-by-one label shift, not timing jitter. The table's times sit near
real cuts; the content labels are shifted one slot in the 5.6–8.0s zone. Root cause:
INVENTORY splits Unity into two shots (#12–13, 5.67–6.42) but the source has one Unity
shot. Everything from Palantir through DoorDash therefore sits one cut-slot earlier than
the table says. Verified frames: source 7.2s = ICE, 7.6s = DOORDASH (table claims ICE at
7.46–7.84 — that span is actually DoorDash).
True zone times (detected): Unity ~5.59–6.01 · Palantir 6.01–6.42 · Warby 6.42–6.72 ·
Nubank 6.72–7.05 · ICE 7.05–7.42 · DoorDash 7.42–7.84 · bass 7.84+ (the −0.128 "drift"
detection flagged on shot 19).
- Consequence for existing renders:
s09r0(6.05–7.42) actually contains
Palantir/Warby/Nubank/ICE (not Unity/.../Nubank); s10r0 (7.46–7.97) is
DoorDash + bass tail (no ICE at all). The Seedream seg09 pass therefore *already includes
ICE in ligne claire*. Decision #3 can now be made with real footage: ICE's true frames are
7.05–7.42, extractable cleanly for any treatment.
- Shot-bible corrections (INVENTORY v2 needed):
- #11 "Olo (flash)" is TOAST (c09: orange banner, "The end-to-end platform built for
restaurants" — Toast's tagline + brand color; NYSE Sep 2021, ticker TOST). Date census
shifts by one (Mar→Sep 2021).
- #12–13 two Unity shots → one Unity shot.
- Doubles the table missed (each shows two real cuts): Pinterest (c28/c29), Paragon 28
(c40/c41), Dutch Bros (c31/c32), PagerDuty women (c50/c51), FIGS confirmed two (c26/c27),
LVWR possibly two (c68/c69). Some may be detector false-positives (flag/confetti motion) —
adjudicate frame-by-frame before rewriting the table.
- #50 Fearless Girl: an empower banner hangs behind the statue (c49) — the statue
shot has a corporate referent after all (Empower retirement, statue's 2021 sponsor era).
- #62 Grindr: indoor podium ceremony, ticker reads GRND, gold confetti (c64) — not a
balcony/facade shot.
- #24 unknown green ceremony (c21): the crayon-tree mural backdrop confirmed; still
unidentified (stays lost, per doctrine).
Implications
- Re-extraction is NOT needed wholesale. Most run boundaries land on real cuts. What's
needed: INVENTORY v2 (relabels + Toast + Unity merge + adjudicated doubles), then re-extract
only the zone runs whose content assignment changes (s08–s10 neighborhood, and wherever
curation wants clean single-shot runs).
- Bell-strike alignment (spec audio rule) can now be checked against
true_cuts.json—
next audio session: onset-detect the bells, measure cut↔bell offsets.
- The accidents stand per doctrine 5 — this report is for future renders and the maximal
cut's precision work, not a retroactive correction of shipped prints.
Next actions (in order)
- Adjudicate the 6 candidate doubles (eyeball adjacent thumbs) → INVENTORY v2 + SHOTS_TRUE table.
- Extract clean ICE frames (7.05–7.42) → decision #3 prototypes (raw / deco / recur).
- Bell onset map vs true cuts (the audio rule, finally checkable).
- Re-extract + re-render only what curation demands at true boundaries.
